Admittedly I’m not the world’s biggest fan of Valentines day. I will celebrate the love for sure, but I feel like it can arrive almost with a sense of obligation.  Out-of-the-blue and ‘just because’ are sweeter sounds to my ear (and heart) than February the 14th will ever be.

Luscious desserts and chocolate however, I am totally on board with. If your going to treat a special someone or lavish love on your self do it RIGHT with these beauties.

 1. Raw Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes from This Rawsome Vegan Life 

Ridiculously good. Chocolate ‘cake’ made from oats, nuts and dried fruit surrounds a gooey molten lava centre. You will need a muffin tin, steady hand and some patience, but oh so worth it!

2. Feminine Rose Dark Chocolate by Culinary Karma 

This is one for the alchemist in you. Dark chocolate infused with rose water, rose petals, calendula and chrysanthemum. The herbalist in me gave a squeal of delight when I first saw this recipe, infused with such goodness. Calendula is used in herbal medicine for inflammation of the oral and pharangeal mucosa, gastric ulcers, enlarged lymph nodes, acne and painful periods. Chrysanthemum is traditionally used in chinese medicine to aid in recovery from the flu and for acne. The floral of rose petals and rose water have an amazing feminine energetic quality, perfect for both boys and girls to soften and surrender a little.

3. Raw Valentine Cookies by Earthsprout 

A crunchy cookie base decorated with a bright pink topping, given it’s stunning colour by the humble beetroot. I am such a fan of sneaking veggies into my sweet treats, and all the better when it means steering clear of food dyes and artificial colouring. As a bonus, these could be made without chocolate for those who aren’t fans of the stuff. The perfect excuse to get the cookie cutters out!

5. My Easy Raw Brownies

Because sometimes we want something darn tasty and we want it now. They Take 5 minutes to make and set in the fridge while you having dinner. Jazz them up with fresh berries and a dollop of coconut yoghurt.
